Hello everyone!
I want to talk about the theory of evolution! I personally, do not see anything controversial about the topic, so I will be freely talking about and updating this blog on the scientific consensus of evolution and general areas of evolution that I find interesting .

One of the aspects of evolution that I find incredibly fascinating is, of course human evolution and the subfield of evolutionary anthropology. But to be more precise, our hominid origins are a particularly fascinating area of evolutionary anthropology as well as paleoanthropology!

To get into some specifics (some physical anthropology), one of the well known and cherished facts about the hominids is their bipedal locomotion. In hominid fossils, paleoanthropologists have been able to identify extreme similarities between the hominid Ossa coxae ( hip bones). they both have a smaller length and breadth than compared to a great ape hip bone. What hominid am I talking about? Well the famous Australopiths. Think Lucy, she is the most famous of the Australopithecines that have been found. Now, talking about skulls, Lucy's skull also had many similar attributes to Homo Sapiens, this meaning the foreman magnum, this is were your spine would enter to the brain, is placed towards the front, instead of towards the back like our great ape cousins.

These amazing facts just barely scratch the surface of evolutionary anthropology! I hope this blog has peaked your interest to want to learn more about anthropology! Don't fret, there will be much more to come! I will be regularly posting blogs so please subscribe for updates! Remember stay curious!
